About Us
Set on the Dorset/Somerset border in beautiful countryside, the historical White Post Inn has affordable food in the Two Counties Bar and Restaurant from its Carvery and Traditional Menus.
Steve & Dawn Green will heartily welcome you with Real Ales, Fine Wines and a cosy real fire, plus we operate a dining loyalty scheme -pick up a card and simply collect 10 stamps to earn a free bottle of wine!
As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
Historically there were two bars on the premises, One in Dorset and the other in Somerset, which had different licensing hours in each county. Many locals still remember having to move from one bar to the other in order to gain an extra 30 minutes drinking time at opening and closing times!
Following over 150 years of service to the local community, the building was in a poor state of repair and so in 2008 it was almost completely rebuilt.
This resulted in the loss of one of the old bars, but the advantage gained was the benefit of large panoramic windows in the restaurant, which offer uninterrupted views of the fantastic surrounding landscape.
